You need at least 10 Sun Stones to access this stage, which should be no problem if you're following this guide. It is the area's boss stage.
Ride the cradle toward the right, ascending to a point where you can receive an Assist Star. Just past that, there are capsules containing the Ice, Fighter and Bomb abilities. Grab the one you prefer and then ride a second cradle right as it ascends toward a door at the summit. Enter the door to face the level boss.
Boss: Pyribbit
Your foe here is an oversized toad with flame properties. When the battle begins, he'll hop immediately into the backdrop and hop along the islands before returning to the foreground. When he does, get in close and hit him a few times with your attack of choice, but watch out; he'll stand still for a moment, then pound the ground and send out a flaming shockwave.
Once you have hit the toad a few times, it will dive into the lava pool in the background and then approach. As it does, steer clear of it as much as possible. When it gets closer to the foreground, it'll use its tongue to try and reach you. If you're close enough at that point, it'll gulp you down and inflict some pretty serious damage before you are returned to the foreground in a dazed state. That's no fun at all.
Other attacks to watch out come at you from the background also, typically. The toad will hop to a far island and toss rocks toward the foreground. You can see the shadow and avoid them. Be prepared for the toad to soon join the rock, and that's when you should hit it a few times.
In other cases, the toad will produce high columns of lava in the background that will sweep toward the screen. There's always an opening, either between some of the columns or if you float above them, so get into position quickly and you can avoid taking damage until the toad tires of that tactic.
One final attack worth noting is flame breath. Be ready for that, as the toad will shoot out a row of flame and then will spin in circles. If you get caught in that, you'll have to endure some damage until finally you are dropped free, and that can wreak havoc on your life meter.
Pyribbit will use a few other attacks as well, but they're not different enough from those outlined above to really matter. Mostly, you just need to keep avoiding the attacks that come at you from a distance and then move in close to do some damage when your foe is briefly within reach. That tends to make the fight last a little longer than is ideal, but if you're patient, you'll win.
As usual, a pendant appears once you win, and you can grab it to finish the stage.
