Kirby: Triple Deluxe Guide > Story Mode > Wild World - Stage 6

You need at least 8 Sun Stones to access this stage, which should be no problem if you're following this guide. It is the area's boss stage.

Ascend some stairs leading to the right and collect an Assist Star along the way, then ride a 3D Warpstar into the backdrop and descend along some more stairs. Here, you can grab the Bell, Archer or Spear ability from one of the capsules (the middle option may be the best). At the base of the stairs, there's a doorway you can enter to meet your foe.

Boss: Coily Rattler

This guy has several methods of attack, and unfortunately, you're probably not going to do well if you try to get in close with the Spear. You're better off pelting him from a distance.

For the most part, the snake likes to set up camp along the left or right side of the screen, and he will spit out blazing rocks from there. You can inhale those, then fire them back to do some damage, but only if you hit his head. Otherwise, the shots will bounce away harmlessly and that's just a wasted opportunity. Also, note that he likes to bob his head down sometimes, so wait for him to do that and then fire at him when he straightens, just to be sure your shot doesn't go wild.

While the snake is in that position, also be mindful of the tail. It can lash out and hit a short distance to the left or right, and it'll do some good damage if you happen to be standing in the way.

Frequently throughout the battle, the snake will decide to move about. Sometimes it crosses the screen directly, but it weaves between the foreground and background so there are safe places to stand. You can also easily float overhead. Other times, it'll launch out of the screen, then slither up and down distant pillars. Sometimes it'll come diving back into the foreground from there, so keep moving when the snake disappears out the top side of the screen. Other times, it'll send chunks of itself flying. You can inhale these and fire them at the snake head, once it arrives.

There are a few other attacks to avoid, as well. Sometimes, the snake will position itself upright, stay in place for a second, then dive toward you and try to grab you in its mouth. If it does, it'll carry you back and crash you against the pillars, inflicting a lot of damage. In other cases, it may circle into a large ring and slowly move across the screen, but you can pass easily through the ring and avoid taking damage.

The fight shouldn't prove difficult overall, once you get used to the fairly simple patterns, but it may last a little bit if you're not taking advantage of every opening, and that increases the likelihood that you'll take damage. Just be patient and precise and you'll do fine.

As usual, a pendant appears once you win, and you can grab it to finish the stage.
