I had heard enough about the Sufjan Stevens' Illinois from internet articles and around HG that when I saw it at my local mall's Fye I picked it up (I didn't think you'd find something like that in a mall chain store, but I was wrong). I don't thing it's as great as some people probably do, but it's pretty good.
My favorite tracks are Chicago, John Wayne Gacy jr., and The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades Is Out To Get Us. I also really like Jacksonville, Casimar Pulaski Day, and the zombie song. As for the rest, some of it's decent but not really memorable, and some of it falls flat. The short intermission songs are pretty pointless too. The worst track is the last, which is four minutes of noise appearing to build up to something and then dying out.
Still, it's a good album because there's some great stuff on it. It'll probably grow on me.
