Great review with some good analysis about what makes the game work and what holds it back. Since the game seems not to have attracted much coverage/attention anywhere, it seems your opinion falls pretty close to the consensus. I'm still looking forward to maybe someday playing it, but now my expectations should be more in sync with reality. Thanks!

"What if everything you see is more than what you see--the person next to you is a warrior and the space that appears empty is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto on secret doors to another world2

SPOILER ALERT: And neither is the next one. Or the one after that!

Guess I don't have anything mapped out after that, so anything's possible, but I wouldn't bet on it!
