Everything about this game pre-launch suggested it was going to to a painful, broken mess. I suppose it's a win of sorts that it just turned out to be dull. I don't think I was ever going to play this one (I only got around to The Force Unleashed this year...) but it seems to have been caught up in the culture wars, so people writing about it are either having to mindless praise a game they don't mind, or angrily bury a game they don't mind. The internet is weird. Point being, it was good to read a more balanced view.

I'm not sure if this was a typo, or a sly dig at Key's copy-and-paste 'personality':

As the game begins, Rey is so desperate for work that she agrees to break into a heavily guarded facility to steal from the local wealthy guy, Sliro.

EDIT: I know I've not posted a lot in the last few years, but is all the HTML stuff broken now?

For us. For them. For you.

I've noticed a few months back that HTML stopped working on the forums and blog posts. It didn't affect the reviews, so I didn't give it much mind.

From time to time, someone comes to the site and looks around and thinks, "Hey, there must be all sorts of amazing things to steal from the database!" Or, they think, "Hmm, this looks like a nice site to destroy!"

Occasionally, those individuals even have the knowledge to make a sincere effort, using scripts and such. Leaving HTML wide open allows them to try running those malicious scripts. If they find a script that works well enough, they might manage to gain access to the database or even modify it. Financially, this would gain them nothing to justify any effort expended, but they don't know that until they try.

The site has long had measures in place to prevent scripts and all but the most benign of HTML, but that wasn't always enough. It now has more severe restrictions in place to block more advanced attacks. No site can ever be entirely secure, but that doesn't mean leaving the door wide open is a good idea.

In other news, thanks for reading the review and responding.

"What if everything you see is more than what you see--the person next to you is a warrior and the space that appears empty is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto on secret doors to another world2
