These are my favorite kind of games to read about - the b-listers (or c-listers, from the sounds of Lords of the Fallen) - from the perspective of genre fans.. Great review!

Thanks, something tells me I'll be playing through a lot of those b/c-listers for the Souls genre in the future. Mainly because I've done three in the past year-plus and have a few more either downloaded via PS Plus or on my list to download when I clear more hard drive space. Sad thing is that out of all the Souls-likes I have played, the only one I didn't finish was one of the highest-regarded (Nioh). Something about it just didn't click with me, leading to me enjoying the levels, not enjoying all the repetitive side quests and finding the bosses to often be more frustrating than fun to work on.

Of course, I should start up Dark Souls III in the near future to get to one of the last FROM ones. And maybe buy Sekiro, although I'm kind of dreading that one. Seems to funnel players into a style of play based on parrying and timing that up is a real weak point for me in these games.
