Great review. This is timely as I'm in the middle of the Ages version of PS1. I've never really tried this series before, but have always heard PS3 described as "meh." My understanding is that PS3 is a side story anyway.


Not sure how to make a sig? While logged into your account, you can edit it and your other public and private information from the Settings page.

It's a weird game. I'd started it a long time ago, but had quit around the desert world where you're getting Wren because it was feeling a lot like PS2 and, at that time, I wasn't in the mood for a super-tough RPG. And then I found out that if I'd just persevered a bit longer, almost all of that difficulty would have evaporated.

Since I was more Nintendo growing up, I didn't get into the series until the early 2000s or late 1990s. And haven't really played them enough to know the overall series story or how this one fits into it. There's Dark Force and I think a NeoPalm spaceship came into play during the ending I got, but I don't know that there's much of anything else that really connects it to the others. Wait, yeah, when you upgrade all your weapons near the end, they get the word Nei attached to their name, so there's a PS2 reference!
