Thanks for reviewing this. I kept hearing about it but wasn't sure what it actually was. When I hear "battle royale" I was picturing something more like 8-bit smash bros.

I find it interesting (and sad) that at the end of the month this just goes away and is lost to the ether. That'd be like if the NWC happened and afterwards, all the carts were incinerated and all we knew about it were from photos.

Thanks for reading. I'm glad you found the text useful! We're at a point in time when a lot of games are starting to disappear, even without the aid of an unnecessary expiration date such as the one Nintendo has applied to this game, and it's a shame. I like to cover stuff with a review so that if people start wondering years later what they missed, there's a useful record and some analysis. I know emulation is often an option, but it's hard to say how things will go and I like to cover the bases. I decided to cover this one now rather than later because I hope that if my text makes it sound as interesting as it is, that will give a few more people the push they need to try it while they still can.

"What if everything you see is more than what you see--the person next to you is a warrior and the space that appears empty is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto on secret doors to another world2
