Well, it's a good thing I decided to review Gato instead of Immortals, or that could have been awkward...

I feel much the same way you do about this game (and Breath of the Wild, for that matter), with one significant exception. As much as I enjoyed it, as satisfying as it was, I was glad when it was done. I just don't think it had the staying power to make you stay in the world hunting everything down. I was way way WAY overpowered by the final 1/3 of the game or so, and the puzzles (especially the overworld) never really evolved. The Odysseus challenge was cool the first time you did it, but not the 8th.

But even if it did wear out its welcome by the end, it was still well worth it.

I did experience that some of the puzzles got repetitive by the end, but I played over the course of weeks and that helped some. It wound up not being a big enough issue to mention in a review I wanted to keep tightly focused, but I think you could explore that very well in a review of your own. Maybe write one anyway, even though I covered it. I love seeing impressions for multiple people for the same game on this site and any other. It's something that doesn't happen as often as it used to when so many more people enjoyed writing reviews than apparently do now. Thanks for reading!

"Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought." - John F. Kennedy on reality

"What if everything you see is more than what you see--the person next to you is a warrior and the space that appears empty is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto on secret doors to another world2
