I have fond memories of the 90s comic and bought this game on sale on GOG a while back. Ended up not finishing, but I loved the presentation. Great review. Maybe I'll have to get back into it...

I backed the game on Kickstarter when it was being developed, despite having never read the comics. I was slated to receive a digital copy, but later I had the chance to upgrade to a physical copy and I did that and got a copy on Switch (plus eventually a Steam copy from Humble Bundle). That I haven't played. Because that's how I roll.

I have in fact backed a number of games on Kickstarter over the years and even did so at a level that means I have my name in the credits in some cases but still haven't gotten around to playing them: Battle Chasers, The Dwarves, For the King, Yooka-Laylee, Shenmue III, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep, Mighty No. 9, Godus, Shadowgate, Pillars of Eternity and Broken Age. I should probably stop backing games since it virtually guarantees I'll never play them. And at least for now, I have stopped backing them... because I have no money.

"What if everything you see is more than what you see--the person next to you is a warrior and the space that appears empty is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto on secret doors to another world2

Germ:
I actually read the comic before playing this game. I bought the game around the same time I got a Switch, and that was motivation to finally get the full collection on Kindle. I really do hope Medureira picks it back up.

Jason:
I haven't backed a game before, but I wouldn't be against it (depending on which game it is). The closest I've come to that is buying a game in Steam's Early Access, and that was only because it was a franchise I love (Fire Pro Wrestling).
