Great review - I played this back on the 360 (this was my first exposure to the Witcher franchise) I was into the story, but the battles were becoming a real chore - can't remember how far I got. Having loved (and completed) Witcher 3, I really want to experience the first two games.

Witcher 3 is the next PS4 game on my agenda after I complete Dragon Quest XI. I've been looking forward to that one, especially since it seems to be the one where CD Projekt Red finally got it all right. The first game had a fun combat scheme, with you tapping a button at the right time to chain combos, but was pretty non-challenging (except for certain staged battles which sucked) and was pretty slow for the first chapter or two. The second had great story-telling, but mediocre action in confined areas. But the third finally moves things into a more open-world setting and, from what I've heard, is more polished.
