Konami released both Castlevania: Bloodlines, and Contra: Hard Corps that same year,

Yes, we all do. Except for maybe... Konami?

| Nice one! I'm glad I skipped this game. I always came [....] this close to renting it as a kid, but figured it would be a waste of time.

| I used to own this game on SNES but never got around to reviewing it cause I lost the game. I didn’t bother rebuying it cause my opinion of it was much the same as yours, mainly due to the sluggish controls you described so well. I’m surprised I ever bothered to beat the game, but I did a few times. Think the coolest thing about The Mayan Adventure was that it included a secret in which you could play the original. And the pretty waterfalls, graphically. It always baffled me that they released a Pitfall game on something other than an Atari back then.

| Wow, you actually bought this at the time. Did you sell your entire collection?

| Ha, I still haven't ever sold a video game in my life yet, other than Metroid Fusion.

| Out of all the games you could have sold, what was it about Metroid Fusion that prompted you to sell it? I remember that being a pretty darn good game!

| I tried to replay it recently and couldn't stomach it. Meanwhile, I had a ton of fun with Metroid Zero Mission. It's so much better.

Jason, It was still new at the time, so after I got frustrated with making it near the end and not being able to figure out how to make a particular jump, even after reading guides, I sold it so I could get something else on a whim. Think I got Donkey Kong for Game Boy in place of it. I did like Metroid Fusion pretty well but didn’t love it.
