I really need to go back and finish this game. I played through the first episode when it was first released and thought it was fantastic, then I bought the season pass and it has since been passively updating itself and growing in size on my hard drive. I just keep forgetting to get back into it.

I may also a bit reluctant to jump back in, too, because the choices that I made in the first chapter essentially screwed Max over in every aspect of her life. By the end of it she had basically no friends, a crop of new enemies and her educational prospects had been completely ruined. I was like: "Aw man, do I really have to sort out this mess?"

Which I suppose is a tribute to its storytelling; I empathized a lot with Max, and this game is immersive enough that I cringed at the thought of what would come next. It also doesn't hurt that a lot of the themes of this game really hit home for me, as I was also a weird kid who attended art college and took photography courses.

Anyway, great review. Thanks for not spoiling too much!

I landed a copy of the first Episode whilst acquiring Square RPGs - naturally through Humble Bundle, and this review actually helps me along in my decision about playing it.

Thank you.

Thanks, guys, I was kind of vague throughout this one because settling on anything definite for more then a second came with the impending threat of spoilers. Seriously, as someone who spends too much time online, I have no idea how I managed to dodge some of the plot points for as long as I did; I certainly didn't want to become that guy by proxy.

LiS has some issues (including, fair warning, a very poor stealth section shoehorned in at the end for exactly no sensible reason other the to have an obligatory and awful stealth section) but I'm glad I finally got around to playing it. Thanks, both, for reading.

For us. For them. For you.
