Your detailed descriptions and enthusiasm made this pretty engaging to read throughout, and actually made me curious to try out one of the games now... if I had a Sony system in my possession. At the very least, I looked at some videos of this game on YouTube. Solid review!

Hey, thanks! I just hope the rest of the series can keep up the quality, music-wise. That was the main draw for me and it seems like a particularly difficult standard to maintain, but hey, maybe Miku songs are always this awesome.

Great review -- loved how you put the video imagery into words. The "gun gesture" sentence particularly stood out.

The upcoming PS3/Vita sequel is a shade weaker musically, but it's still strong enough and actually includes my all-time favorite (a returning entry from the PSP games). You should definitely get F2 when it comes out over here, since it will be 100% new songs for you. Just be sure to start your play-through with the second song. The first one isn't bad... it's just not worthy of being the first song on the playlist.

I've been in Chicago all weekend but coming back to finally see this review was a treat!

If you're interested in exploring the game further, Project Diva F 2nd includes a lot of the better songs from the PSP titles (and a bunch of others that are hit or miss). If you're too impatient to wait for it to come stateside, you'll be happy to know it's very import-friendly, and the UI is essentially unchanged from the F you're used to... The only real difference is that O becomes the "OK" button, since it's a Japanese title and they use O instead of X for their selection button.

One more thing, you have a slight typo at the end of your review:

" Porject DIVA f made me wish I was in that group. This game is too good at what it does to be an exclusive experience. "

Thanks a lot for reading, guys. I'll have no hesitation to get 2nd, but I'll wait for the localization. I'm patient!
