I thought you were going to like this one, because it sounds great on paper, but your review did an excellent job of explaining why you didn't and left me with a suspicion that I'd find the entire experience rather lukewarm if I were to attempt it myself. I think I might just skip it, or wait for a Humble Bundle or something. Thanks!

Ouch! Man, I remember Asylum and City. Those were fun times.

They should release DLC to edit the big superheroes out of flop games. They should totally turn this into Daredevil: Blackgate. Or! Replace the entire soundtrack with Sonic's Aqua Zone BGM and call it Aquaman Origins.

Nice work -- on a side note, I'm not big on Metriodvania games, but I'm getting a lot of (increasingly unsubtle) nudges to play Inescapable, as it's "the game which will change my mind on the genre" Had any experience with it?

I'd never even heard of it until now, but I'll look into it! I'm actually on a bit of a Metroidvania kick right now, which is how I wound up playing Blackgate to begin with. (I asked Twitter for suggestions and had no less than five people recommend it to me.)
