DAMN. 2 Gigs for a DLC?! I hear it's just a Fallout-style epilouge, though.

ME1 ain't the hottest but it was my favorite. It's quite sloppy, though hands down the most interesting in terms of universe.

I'm doing a whole series replay now, actually, after finishing ME3 in April. Mass Effect 1 was tremendously flawed, even back when it first released. It has a torturous save system and some very awkward, boring and downright unnecessary vehicle combat. Each of these was so bad at times I considered just putting the game down and going straight to ME2, which offers a download that let's you view a 15-minute movie that briefs you on ME1 and allows you to make all the important decisions in it. I highly suggest others to do this and start with ME2.

ME3 feels like a distant memory. When did I play through that? March or something? I'm surprised how much such a disappointing ending affected my enjoyment of the game. Absolutely loved it my first time through but I just couldn't get into it on replay knowing what would eventually happen in the end. It's not unusual for games to have awful stories, but I think it just left a bad aftertaste considering how excellent the first two games did with narrative, game world and characterization. That and a combination of a sizable backlog of PS3 games and a looming Xenoblade release caused ME3 to gather dust on my shelf much sooner than ME2 ever did. I think what most people want is a simpler, predictable ending where the Reapers are destroyed/controlled and Shepard is hailed as the galactic hero/emperor with various "here's what happened to all the races/factions" messages. It would be nice if the DLC completely wrote out the goofy child-god-jesus-thing but the early rumors sound like it won't be changing the actual ending much.
