Placeholder for near-future feedback.

Review can be seen here. It was a bit too jumbled to go up on site as is, but I'll be leaving feedback as soon as I can find time. If anyone else in the community wants to jump in and take my place, all the information is now available.

I hope to be able to add my own by the weekend.

For us. For them. For you.

Boy, this one's tough. I don't want to make anyone feel left out (except occasionally Suskie), but I have to be honest and say the style here doesn't appeal to me at all. That said, at least you're writing a review. I haven't written any reviews in over a month now...

Now to be constructive.

The main problem with the style is that it doesn't garner any respect for the author. It's the closest I've ever come to reading a "valley-girl" review. It's not so much the casual nature of the voice that bothers me... it's more that the author doesn't do anything to gain my confidence that he (she?) knows what he (she?) is talking about or has anything to add to my knowledge of the game.

The best line is, in my opinion:

"The highway part makes you forget that it's too long when it employs some serious in-game physics styling and profiling parts that leaves you feeling like a genius for having pulled it off."

This is getting at some real criticism and is a really good point. That section is too long but the team manages to pull it off. I personally think it has more to do with the different set pieces they put around the road and how creepy it is to go into long abandoned houses to find resistance members zombified or shot to hell. I don't actually know what you mean by "profiling parts."

Point is, here you're actually getting into some criticism and you're starting to let me know that you've done more than just breezed through the game without thinking about it. Too bad this is your last paragraph.

Essentially this is a review that tells me what anyone who is interested in Half Life 2 already knows... you shoot aliens; there's a gravity gun... and it doesn't say these things in a manner that is particularly interesting or appealing so why would I read this and not the other six dozen Half Life 2 reviews easily accessed on the web?

Note to gamers: when someone shoots you in the face, they aren't "gay." They are "psychopathic."

So does this mean I can't win RotW now?

Where's the cash?
