I just saw a commercial on television about Crystal Meth

And it occurred to me that I have no idea what crystal meth is. None. In the northeast there has been almost no use of the drug at all and we know enough to stay away from it. I was never taught about it in school, so I have no idea what it looks like or what kind of high you get from it.

Here in the Northwest, we manufacture it in between giving our babies their bottles and changing their diapers. We live in stripped out mobile homes and ghetto stick-frame houses and sometimes we blow ourselves up along with our babies because we're total idiots. We look thin, almost skeletal and our eyes are red and we never really have a clue what's going on around us because we're loser druggies. It's great.

Trust me, meth is there. It's just not one of your typical high school experimentations. Crystal Meth is a combination of chemicals, and it's about as hardcore as they come. It's speed with euphoria. Users can often stay up for days on end before crashing. Of course, there's a downside. Besides making you certifiably crazy, it rots your teeth out, destroys your skin, and generally makes you look fifteen years older than you are.

Working at the used media store for three years I have seen and known meth/crack/heroin-junkies firsthand. Seriously, just listen to your parents on this one and stay away. I had a good friend with a promising future as an artist and a DJ. He tried heroin once, got hooked, and eventually disappeared off the map. I barely recognized him two years later when he came to sell all of "his" stuff. He didn't say much. All I know is that his life depended on getting out of the city as quick as possible.
