I found that the trick with Legion is not to go combo crazy. Equip a strong weapon (like the Warhammer, for example) and get in a good hit whenever you can. Knowing his attacks and how to dodge them helps immensly. Also, screw your IDs. When he enters his second form, equip the Sacrifice Brooch accessory and let them take all the damage. You'll last longer.

Yeah, I use the ring. The biggest trouble I have with that fight is avoiding the dead bodies he throws at me, it's almost impossible not to get hit.
