Just some thoughts.

-GAMES-

Shadow Warrior: First game played on the PS4. The system had an Arkham Knight pack-in, but that's currently collecting dust on a shelf since I have yet to play the prior Arkham games. Anyway, my first real glance of SW was back in mid-2014, when I saw a YouTube playthrough of the first few chapters and thought, "Hey, this looks fun!" Fast forward to July 2015, and the nothingness I felt as the ending credits started rolling. As I said in my review, the game had me for the first few chapters, but the thrills died out halfway through. This game really didn't need 17 friggin chapters...

Watch Dogs: For the longest time, I hated the hype this game was getting for years prior to its release. I just didn't understand what people were getting excited about, and was even more dumbfounded when the first gameplay teaser was shown. Having said that, I bought this purely for curiosity's sake, since it was going for $14, and I had a week of free time to use while waiting for the retail release of the next game on this list to come out. After giving it a solid week, it's actually not a bad game. It's nothing groundbreaking, but as far as GTA-style games I've played within the last 10 years, it's certainly been one of the least offensive ones. The gun combat feels intuitive for this kind of game, the hacking puzzles, while not great, are serviceable distractions, and it's actually kinda fun driving around the map.

I've only played the first chapter and a half of the campaign (more time was spent on the side-quests), but, and some people will think I'm nuts for saying this, it's been more fun than GTA5's dragfest of a campaign. I had fun with GTA5's trolling extravaganza that's its multiplayer mode, but that campaign made me numb. And no, I'll probably never write a review of GTA5. It's been nearly two years since I last played it, and I have no desire to return. The closest you'll get to a mini-review is me poking fun at it in my Farming Simulator review (fifth paragraph).

Zombie Army Trilogy: Currently writing a review for this and the main reason this blog entry exists. Just wanted to vent a little bit. This is a review that I both want to write and don't want to write. I want to write it because there's so much I want to talk about, and that's exactly the same reason I don't: I fear the review might drag on too long. I'm kinda stopping and going with it. I'm currently on my 7th paragraph of who knows how many left. Back I go! Or maybe I'll eat something first. Or watch a video. Or... damn it.

-MOVIE-

Ant-Man: Not bad. It sometimes felt disjointed, some of the comedy fell flat, and I was scratching my head when they did back to back plot expositions in the middle of the movie. The latter half of the movie definitely had its moments, though.

I tried seeing the new Mission: Impossible during my days off, but an annoying stomachach ruined those plans. Maybe next weekend.
