Guardian Heroes & Radiant Silvergun: The urge to play still there?
October 12, 2011

So I've known Radiant Silvergun has been available on Live Arcade for a few weeks now, and Guardian Heroes just came out this Wednesday, yet I'm not exactly rushing, nor excited to play either games. I've played and enjoyed the Saturn version of GH many times in the past, and the prospect of playing this with other people online should sound awesome, but I don't seem motivated to download the title. Same goes for RS, which has been regarded by many as one of the best shooters ever.

Am I the only one feeling this way? Maybe all the hype for the games, especially for RS, has desensitized me. Anyone else here download either title? Don't get me wrong, I still think it's great that new generations get to play these titles without having to pay an arm and a leg for a console and working disc on ebay. I'm just curious for thoughts.

I may have to download those. I've never played the originals and I actually have a large HD now for my Xbox 360, so why not? The only thing stopping me is money.

I downloaded RS and am liking it. I never played it in its heyday and don't think it necessarily deserves the degree of hype it gets, but hey, that's usually the case. It's certainly a lot more likeable than Ikaruga, which I didn't think was all that hot at all.

Radiant Silvergun is a game that I've wanted to play for a pretty long time but I haven't rushed to download it. I already have a huge backlog of unplayed games as a consequence of now leading a working life; I have more money to buy games, but less time to play them.

Yeah, that's always the problem with working. You work a lot so that you have the money to live the life you want, but then you don't have the time... or you work a lot less to live the life you want but you can't because you don't have the money. It's an important lesson we all have to learn. We should all be grateful to games for forcing to learn it sooner than we otherwise might!

I've never heard of either game. I might have to investigate.

If I ever do get around to playing either, I'd prefer to do it on a Saturn.

I've been meaning to play both for a long time, but I've also got a pretty busy gaming schedule over the next month or two (and, no thanks to my new job, less time to play them). Resident Evil 4 HD also has my attention, so we'll see what I get around to playing.

Yeah, it's probably the case of being occupied with too many games and newer games coming out soon with me, too. Maybe if they both came out early during the summer time, I would've had time for both, but with so many interesting games being released, you gotta chose carefully.
