Speaking of Bethesda...
October 29, 2010

Just found out that Shinji Mikami's new studio, Tango Gameworks, has been bought by Bethesda. Link with silly Shinji trying to look cool.

Well, this was a surprise for me... since I still thought he was with PlatinumGames. Goes to show how much I keep up with video game news >_>. Seems like a smart move on Bethesda's part, considering Mikami has a knack for making very interesting games.

"A game where you just follow the scenario is like living life on rails."
"I think it would be nice if the main character had a mission aside from just wiping out evil."

What's next, Quantic Dream buying out Grasshopper Manufacture?

The hell is going on with the woman on the right? It seems like she forgot she's not in a modeling shoot. >_>

Well, in all fairness, that video only shows three glitches... it just shows them over and over from different angles.

A bigger disappoint me to me is how much the game looks like a copy of Fallout 3. But maybe that's just the graphics. I hope to all the gods they changed the actual game progression and level design.

EDIT: I like my error here. I think I'll keep it around. Disappoint me to me. Awesome.

Since this topic is already going in 500 directions, I just want to say I got a kick out of reading Mikami's profile on the Tango Gameworks website, especially the first two dates:

1965 - Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture
1990 - Joins Capcom Co., Ltd

Those first 25 years of his life were pointless!

That's most Japanese, though ^_^
