Well, now that I finally got to experience it...
Overall, I think the "launch" library is decent. There's some Atari 2600 and Intellivision titles, as well as some arcade titles from Konami and Atari. Game Room and the game pack downloads are free, so you can go ahead mess around with it and demo games. The downside to demoing is that you can only demo a game once. For certain games, this is annoying, because you can lose pretty quick trying to figure out how to play correctly.
The purchasing options are pretty interesting. You can choose to "rent" a game for one play, buy the game for use on the system you're playing on (360 or PC), or buy the game for play on both your 360 and PC. Of course, the prices are different depending on which you pick. I didn't bother checking all game prices, but I think they're all the same: to buy the game for one system, it's 240 points, and for both systems, it's 400. Don't worry about choosing to buy for one system, thinking you might change your mind later and wanted the bigger option, since they leave an option for upgrading, with the reduced price. You can also use tokens (you get 20 when you first enter Game Room, and gain more by completing challenges) to play a "free" game for a title you haven't bought. So... I guess that's like demoing it more.
You also get your own arcade "mall", where you can customize, making sections look different from one another. You can place arcade cabinets (of the games you've purchased) in your desired order, as well as place novelty items, like posters, money changing machines, lava lamps, and so on, unlocking more as you rank up.
You rank up by gaining medals, which you do by completing tasks in the game you're playing: beating your own high score, surviving on one life for as long as possible, and playing certain lengths, which change when you complete them.
Overall, not bad. Like I said, the current library is decent at best. I'm really hoping upcoming releases will be diverse, coming from many companies and systems. The only games I purchased so far are Scramble and Super Cobra from Konami. They better release some Castlevania titles!
