Good Concerts and Bad Cars
March 02, 2008

I haven't been updating this thing as much lately. Part of it might have to be me posting more on forums instead of here. Also, nothing really interesting has happened lately.

I'm looking forward to a few good concerts coming up. A week from to today I'll be in Minneapolis seeing NOFX(my favorite band), No Use for a Name(another very good band), and The Flatliners. I'll be heading to Chicago next Friday to see The Vandals.

My wife's car is having a bunch of problems and one of them is something in the engine. It is going to cost close to 3k to fix everything. It is a VW Jetta and so far everyone I know that has a VW has had a ton of problems with their car.

What did you think of The Vandals' latest album? I heard it the other day, and while it still has their distinctive sound, it was kind of boring.

That sucks about the car. I just sold mine to my brother for $200. It has that drain on the battery, but he'll be driving it 60+ miles per day, so that's not a problem.

Even as a fan, I'm not sure why you'd go to see NOFX in concert. I heard they suck live.

I really liked the newest Vandals album. The Vandals are my wife's 2nd favorite band so that is the main reason we are gong to the show.

NOFX just came out with their 2nd live album titled They Have Actually Gotten Worse Live and it is awesome.

I genuinely do not like the band, after I had to hear their first live album 2 or 3 times a day every day for a period of 2 or 3 months thanks to my stupid roommate in college. I try to block that out of my memory. But I always did appreciate their sense of humor when it came to naming that album. I'm glad to hear that it persists.

I could see that record getting old fast. The talking between the songs was funny the first time or two, then I just started skipping it.

Punk in Drublic and So Long and Thanks for All the Shoes are 2 NOFX albums worth checking out. Punk in Drublic is one of the only indie records that I know of that went gold without any videos on MTV or songs on the radio.
