I got a deal on The Orange Box a few weeks ago at my local video store(29.99). So far I've finished portal, played a round or 2 or team fortress, and started half life 2. Everything about Portal was great, Team Fortress seems really fun so far, and everyone knows how good half life 2 is.
I think The Orange Box is my game of the 2007 with Rock band, Mario Galaxy, and CoD4 up there as well. I still have to play Mass Effect witch could alter my previous statement.

pup - January 04, 2008 (05:59 PM) I beat Portal as well. Awesome game. I just wish there was more of it. We'll have to get Ethan and hop on Team Fortress 2 one of these nights. If only everyone around here at one of the same game we could get an HG Live night going. |

bluberry - January 04, 2008 (09:36 PM) Portal would be ruined if it was longer, I thought. it would have been wonderful if there were more assorted puzzles to play afterward, though, instead of just the six advanced versions and all of the challenges. |

pup - January 04, 2008 (11:54 PM) "...it would have been wonderful if there were more assorted puzzles to play afterward..." Exactly what I was meant. The storyline was brief, but constantly engaging with one of the greatest plot twists I have ever witnessed in a game. There was so much more potential for fun with the portals though that I felt a little let down at the end. |

daff - January 05, 2008 (12:03 AM) I can see why they didn't go crazy with content for this game. Now a stand alone sequel will have tons of stuff. |

bluberry - January 05, 2008 (04:47 PM) I almost want to get the PC version just to play (and maybe design) levels. the guys at Bethesda (Elder Scrolls games) actually made a level, it looks sick. |

ghostyghost - January 06, 2008 (04:01 PM) I liked and beat Portal, but it seemed really short and only a few parts required a ton of thought. A lot of stuff just seemed to conviently placed. And towards the end I found it a matter of me just figuring out where I could place portals and that would be the key to beating that section. And I like Half Life 2, but maybe its the console controls but I thought the vehicle driving sections were horrid. Dual Analog controls from a first person view are frustrating. |

bluberry - January 06, 2008 (05:24 PM) I was fine with the vehicle controls for 99% of the game, but fighting that helicopter at the end of Water Hazard sucked since the crosshair kept snapping back down. |
