*hates the Death Note english dub*
December 14, 2007

I watched the first episode of Death Note again last night, except this time in English. And to be honest, I'm not impressed. The voices don't sound anything like the Japanese, and because of that, most of the atmosphere conveyed by the voices is lost. : (

On another note, Mario Galaxy is completely AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!

I wonder what the Princess meant when she said she had something special for Mario. >_>

Haha, I forgot about the intro to that game. But doesn't he do some sort of mini-celebration or something when he reads that note?

Mario knows he's getting some peach cobbler.

95% of all anime is awful dubbed. American dubbing seem to be of the mind that cartoon character do not have normal voices and everyone should talk 'whacky'. Even on the few that hire excellent voice actors (Eva, Last Exile, Hellsing, Ghost in the Shell) the VA'a have a hell of a job as they have to match the lip symcing of the characters and not the other way around. Non-NA publishers also have an annoying habit of thinking they can better, localise of make child-friendly the storylines, often presenting continuity problems and a much weaker overall plot along the way.

I should finish Death Note. I wasn't a huge fan, but I made it up to episode 30-something, so only need see a few more to finish.
