kudos to EA DICE (hope im not wrong about the company) for trying something different.....im still getting this game.....though the campaign i read is only 5-6 hours long......why are FPS campaigns getting shorter?????

FNV probably won't be so short since it is an FPS/RPG.

As for FPS's getting shorter, I've heard it blamed on the fact that developers want to "focus" on multiplayer aspects rather than single player. Maybe they feel it's not worth the effort to make a single player campaign because so many people will just play multiplayer anyway. Maybe they're just becoming lazy in assuming that most people will play multiplayer, and that gives them the right to send out a half-baked single player in the hopes that no one will notice.

What Joe said and the fact they are trying to make games "more realistic" with lighting and shadows. Those things not only take a lot of processing power but a lot of disk space.

I agree, though. Beautiful or realistic graphics are nice, but they mean nothing if a game isn't "gamey."

Game looked pretty bad. Nothing more than a cash in on the typical military games that tend to sell nowdays. Though I am surprised that with the scores, still thought they would be a little higher.

If they had been developing this for several years, I get the feeling they dropped everything once Modern Warfare 2 came out and just followed in that direction.

Still need to play a bit more before I'm sure, but so far I don't think I've seen anything really new or surprising. My favorite thing about the game might be the minimal HUD. DICE did a pretty decent job with some of the multiplayer stuff, too.
