Well, it has only taken about 8 months for me to actually get round to putting something here. Like all good gamers though, this is because I spend too much time playing games (Hah! I wish!)
My time is being taken up with the X360 (when I actually get to play anything) - what a joy! However, I will never dismiss my roots and always dip back into old favourites or previously undiscovered goodies on other consoles from now or from yesteryear.
Which is partly why I am writing a review for the ever stunning Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast.
Even though two sequels have come about the original still holds a special place for me as being one game worth buying a console for.
I have also been recently looking (courtesy of UK games magazine Edge) at dipping my hand somewhat considerably into my pocket to play that most elusive of Treasure classics "Radiant Silvergun". This particular exercise does require the following though; a Japanese Sega Saturn (currently around £50 on eBay), and obviously a copy of what is arguably Treasure's finest (nearer the £100 mark if you can find it).
What this raises to me is the same question I asked myself almost 6 years ago when buying Soul Calibur for the DC (and a DC), although ironically, the prices for game and console are reversed. "Is it worth forking out all this money for one game alone?" The answer is partly in the review, but will ultimately be revealed in a forthcoming blog entry.
Until then, I'll leave you with what I consider to be my "Flavour of the Month". I have the attention span of a gnat you see, and therefore tend to play most of my games incessantly for about a month and then fancy a change. So, for the unveiling of "FotM", I present this:
Flavour of the Month (March 2006): Burnout Revenge (X360)

honestgamer - March 29, 2006 (08:37 AM) Did you play Burnout Revenge on the original Xbox? It'd be interesting to know your thoughts on how they compare. |
