Yay for retarded people. Seriously, it was obviously an accident, and if McDonald's really did offer to pay for all medical bills and the people turned it down, then they're just stupid.

the guy explicitly stated several times he was allergic to cheese and they put it on anyway. he then ate it in a dark room (movie theatre or something, I forgot) where he couldn't check if they listened to him on any of the like five times he said it. mcdonalds then offered at first to pay only half of his medical bills, which is basically the last dickslap anyone would need to just fucking sue them instead.

The article says that McDonald's eventually offered to pay for everything. And while I do agree that it was stupid of McDonald's to make the mistake, it was still a mistake and not one worthy of 5 million dollars payment or whatever the amount was.

well, the way the American legal system is you never actually ask for what you want, but rather more. when it inevitably gets cut down you're still in the good. and I would completely agree with you if McD's offered to pay his medical bills entirely up front and maybe some other token of goodwill like a few hundred bucks or some free food, but by the time they did offer that he was rightfully pissed off that they'd have the nerve to say half.

While you make a good point, I still think the guy who's suing is a bit stupid. If he was that deathly allergic to cheese, wouldn't he check just in case before he bit? Dark room or not, if his life is so on-the-line you'd think he'd be a bit more careful. And the fact that the other two are suing because they risked their lives to rush him to the hospital is just pathetic. They should be satisfied to know that they may have saved their friend's life and not look for some money reward for it.

haha, I didn't read the part about risking their lives going to the hospital, that is pretty dumb. but at a certain point if something never becomes a problem you stop actively thinking about it, I'm sure he's used to ten years of people actually holding the cheese when he says to so he wouldn't just expect them to fuck up.

kind of like how I don't wear a helmet when I ride my friend's bike since it hasn't caused me any trouble yet. we're all shitheads in our own ways.

Well I guess he won't make this mistake again... Can't argue with that last statement. :)

I don't realise that cheese can be that deadly, even with allergy... or was it an exaggeration?
iamtheprodigy iamtheprodigy - August 12, 2007 (01:31 PM)
Probably an exaggeration as he obviously survived. Some people probably are actually so allergic to cheese that they could die. I pity that kind of person, as I personally love cheese and dairy products.
