EDIT: The Conclusion

I attacked under cover of darkness armed with a spray-can of raid while the little bastards were asleep. I managed to coat both nests in a fine foam of death before retreating unharmed.

Tomorrow I will return with a broom to assess the damage. I should be able to remove both nests unhindered.

FURTHER EDIT:

Every single one of the bastards died to my midnight raid, leaving none to guard the nests as I scraped them off. My car is now insect-free, and there's a little bonfire in the backyard where the nests are smouldering. Also there were a bunch of dead hornet larvae inside the nests. Ewwww...

	Genj - August 07, 2010 (05:28 PM) And I thought it sucked having a hornets nest next to my parking spot in the driveway. How hell do hornets make a nest in a car? I mean, did you leave the window down and they nested in the interior? Or did they get under the hood, in the tailpipe, or something like that? Be careful when you get rid of them. Killing a hornet releases an "alert" pheromone that will cause the entire nest to attack.
	WilltheGreat - August 07, 2010 (05:30 PM) They've nested in the driver's side doorjamb, and under the hood. I'm getting some fucking raid. The seal in the doorjamb looks like it's kept them out of the interior, which is good because if they'd nested in the air vents then I'd never get them out. They're both pretty small nests though., no more than a half dozen hornets between the two. Stay tuned for updates.

If it makes you feel any better, I've found a small wasp's nest inside the window (like, between the window and the screen) of the window on the second floor landing. I've also killed probably about 5 wasps in both my brother's and my room throughout the entirety of the summer. Not the same as a large nest, mind, but... still kind of freaky. >_> I hope you're alright. EDIT: EmP, you double-posted. >_>
