So choosing to talk to people before declaring war on them makes you a Nobel peace prize winner? I mean he was nominated after his first 12 days in office, he solved so many problems in that short time didn't he?

The award's a joke, anyways, so I'm not crying and don't really care.

Hmm... maybe you have to know more about me to understand why I'm joking about this. I don't think he deserved it either, but there's so much hateful bullshit flying around in this country these days that I'm amazed winning the Nobel Peace Prize is grounds for despising the guy even more. Guy won a fucking award; be happy for him or move on with your life.

If so many people suddenly think the award is a joke then who gives a fuck?

The best part is that Obama himself said he has no idea why he got the award and that he doesn't deserve it. It amuses me.

I think after having had Bush in office for eight years WHETHER WE ACTUALLY PUT HIM THERE OR NOT we were feeling magnaminous (sp?)

I agree that it shouldn't change your opinion on him for better or worse. With that being said the only reason he won is probably because he's not Bush and the rest of the world likes him more. This is despite the fact that his policies regarding foreign affairs really haven't diverted much from his predecessor.

I think Obama means well, but he can't do much in his current position. Honestly, the government would kill him if he tried to change the banks or the war too much. They killed Kennedy for the same reasons. It's a club and you're either part of it or not part of it. There's no such thing as being against it.

I agree with you and wasn't (and still am not) expecting anything different from the Obama administration than any other of recent times.

Biggest problem we have today in politics is career politicians. Their only goal is to win elections and stay elected.

I'm still a bit confused by this post, though. I can't tell if Suskie is saying Americans are stupid or if Obama is stupid or if Nobel Peace Prizes are stupid or if anything is stupid, really.

What were you trying to say here?
Suskie Suskie - October 12, 2009 (01:23 PM)
I'm saying Americans are needlessly whiny.
