joseph_valencia - August 02, 2009 (12:32 AM) And that's why it's a bad idea to name your programming block "Movies That Don't Suck." On a related note, I think they once ran "RoboCop 3." Maybe they should could it "(Sequels To) Movies That Don't Suck." |

EmP - August 02, 2009 (02:28 AM) A3 was saved by the fact that the later films, AvP and A:R, were absolute toilet. I don't think it was awful, awful -- but it certainly wasn't on par with the first two. It exists in limbo between the two extremes. |

zippdementia - August 02, 2009 (09:38 AM) I'm with EmP there, all the way. There are actually some very good things about Alien 3, like its ending (using the original Nostromo message was genius) and the baiting scene. It was one of those that fits in just fine with the first two films and provides a nice closure to the series. Plus, Sigourney Weaver popularized shaved heads for women with that role. Probably why I like short hair even today. Alien Resurection should never have been made, though I hear it's very different from the shooting script that was provided for the film. AvP I have mixed feelings about. It's bad, but I sort've feel like it's supposed to be bad. Now Ridley Scott is talking about doing another Alien film. Hm... |

joseph_valencia - August 02, 2009 (12:38 PM) I found "Alien 3" to be an ugly and disgusting movie, although it was pretty well shot. |
