Crack the Skye is OK, it's grown on me now I've got over the fact that it isn't Blood and Thunder. I saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in Shepherd's Bush last weekend. They put on a good show, and I like It's Blitz. I hated Hazards of Love, though.

It's one of those albums where I loved it, but I can totally understand why someone would hate it. I'm going to see the Decemberists in a month and I expect it to absolutely erupt on stage; on record, it got mixed reactions and I'm not surprised.

Am I the only one who liked MPP quite a bit better than Strawberry Jam?
Suskie Suskie - May 01, 2009 (12:44 AM)
I loved MPP the first time I listened to it and My Girls is still my most-listened-to song of the year so far. The rest of the album kind of lost some appeal with repeated listens. My issue with AC is that so much of their music feels grounded in repetition, which works great when they find a good hook but is less effective when they don't. I obviously still like the album (and I agree that it's better than SJ) but My Girls and Brother Sport are really the only two songs on it that I keep coming back to.
