I don't pay you to play games that do not directly benefit me!

Send the cheque for my Penumbra review (with you tomorrow, honest!) to my usual address, then ;)

Initial impressions of The Last Remnant have a good chance of changing, since it's a 100-hour game if you do everything (and doing everything is pretty much required in the case of that particular game, since the bulk of its value comes from the side quests). Make sure that you install it to your hard drive or you'll like it less. Also, set the option so that your warriors have automatic timing on attacks and defense, which speeds up battles nicely.

It's for a review, so I'll have to plod on through it.

My initial resentment stemmed from the fact that, 25 minutes in, I'd pressed two buttons. And even had chance to go make a cuppa during one of the cut-scenes, while listening and glancing through the door. And how info-dumpy it is. And how many fucking loading screens there are. And how shockingly, embarassingly poor the script and voice acting are. And how, yes, until I installed it to the hard drive, it clunked along at probably no more than 15FPS in places.

We shall see.
