Yep. I consider myself a Tri-Ace fanboy... Tales of Eternia is a special game to me because it's worked on by Team Wolf, the same developement group that is involved with Tri-Ace on Star Ocean 2 and Valkyrie Profile. Their style of console RPG to me really has that special something that makes me play more. Take today for example, outta no where I had the sudden craving to play Star Ocean 3... a game I've put many hours into, perhaps as near as 200. I'm playing through on the Universal difficulty level now... and surprisingly it's made me re-evuluate my whole approach to progressing in the game. Let's just say I've had to save a lot and pick my battles, and visit the ole Inn. I've also gained some insight on how much the game rocks by just playing this couple hours I did just now in my new file.
Fanboydom is achieved for me simply due to the numbers I've put in their games. Star Ocean 2 I've got 250+ hours of total game play over multiple save files. I'm not really up to doing that all over again... but it was a good time. As a good RPG is...
I've also played and beat Star Ocean 1, the dejap translation. I have to admit, it was kinda sucky.
So look forward to a bunch of Tri-Ace reviews from me in the future, including:
Star Ocean 3
Valkyrie Profile 2
probably.
Cheers!

darkstarripclaw - December 19, 2007 (02:36 PM) Have you played Radiata Stories? It is a marvelous story, albeit sometimes falling a bit short where they try to do too much. Battle system is lovely, though. |
