Maximo: Ghosts to Glory review

Review date unknown

James Gordon says: "While the majority of platformers are based mostly on exploration, platform-jumping and mini-games, Maximo is probably 50% fighting, 50% platforming. It concentrates a lot more on battle than other games of it's genre, which is partly what makes the game so different and fun."

Maximo: Ghosts to Glory review

Marc Golding says: "I’ve played a handful of good 3D updates lately—Castlevania’s Lament of Innocence was one such solid title—but Maximo outdoes that game and just about any I can think of, at least on one crucial level. Other good 3D follow ups do justice to their predecessors, but Maximo is arguably better than the two 16-bitters to come before it. That’s right, better. "

matsuko says: "Capcom’s latest may be just what you need if you are a platforming or nostalgia freak, but be wary; underneath the near-perfect graphics and pick up and play game mechanics lurks something much more sinister."

rappingshoe says: "Maximo is supposedly some sort of tribute to Ghosts 'n Goblins. Unfortuntely, like Five's tribute to Queen with their 'We Will Rock You' cover, it's a bit rubbish."
