Red Faction: Guerrilla review (Xbox 360)

Reviewed June 12, 2009

Lewis Denby says: "A vast game of utterly mad possibilities. There's not enough of a culture for Guerrilla to be proclaimed a true masterpiece, or even a revolution, but it's not a long way off. Rarely has open-world mayhem been so invigorating, so satisfying and hilarious. Far and away the best in the series so far, Guerrilla is the absolute statement of Volition's explosive plan - and Red Faction would struggle to return to its linear routes after this outstanding effort."

Red Faction: Guerrilla review (Xbox 360)

Rob Hamilton says: "You'll kill soldiers with one swing and take down buildings with just a bit of effort. It's hilariously overpowered, crumbling concrete walls like they were made of styrofoam. In third-person over-the-shoulder shooters, it's rare that a melee weapon is this indispensable. You won't mind that the game forces you to hold it at all times, as there's something indubitably MANLY about running up to things and effortlessly destroying them by swinging a mighty hammer of the gods."

Red Faction: Guerrilla review

Reviewed August 04, 2009

True says: "Every now and then, simplicity strikes a chord with me. Sometimes I want to throw myself into chaos, worry more about my own survival rather than the bigger picture. I want to destroy. I want to continue to destroy without being burdened by an intricate plot, emotional fifteen-minute cut-scenes or the grating, over-rated act of thinking. "
