zippdementia I'm best known for my extensive work in the fields of this and that. I tend to be better at that, though I have more fun with this.

I'm an odd jobber with an even personality who isn't afraid to roll with the punches but prefers to dodge them when able.

See, being on a Mac, I don't check Steam too often. Also, I just got a MAC this year that's capable of actually playing games.

So imagine my shock when I log in to Steam after years of not being on to learn that Left 4 Dead was made available for Mac at some point.

Awesome.

It was on sale last week. Sorry to tell you this too late.

I have an evil, horrible secret.

I still haven't played that game. I want to though.

I hadn't played Left 4 Dead II, but it's really awesome. I do think it's better than the first one, if only because the missions are better designed. It feels less random, but that might be me...?

I have this sinking feeling that, like the first one, if you try to play it with random people it starts sucking.

The weird thing is that supposedly Left 4 Dead I is out for MAC on steam... but I only see windows versions available...?

Not that there's much point in having Left 4 Dead I after Left 4 Dead II came out. II is a much tighter experience.

And I was wrong... it's way more random. Whole levels change up on me. Yet to play online. I'm afraid of assholes.

Oh, I almost forgot: If you plan on playing Team Fortress 2, please read this first.

L4D 2 is available for the Mac. In the matter of fact, last week the entire game was cheaper for the PC/Mac than the newest DLC is for Xbox.

The original L4D still isn't available for Mac. Valve said it would be by the end of 2010.

Maybe I got in on that deal? I bought the whole thing, all DLC included, for 20 bucks.

Hey, by the way, did anyone else think melee weapons made L4D2 way too easy? The game lost all of its intensity when you realized you could just stand in one place and swing the samurai sword over and over.

I haven't decided on that yet. I will admit I beat a section last night in the sewers where I thought I was absolutely f-ed... with the crowbar.

Melee Weapons: I'd love to hear some more discussion/opinions on this, if anyone can bring it.

They were too powerful when the game first came out but after all the nerfs they seem ok now. Valve needs to work on fixing a bunch of other problems with the game that I don't want to get into right now at 2am. I wouldn't consider melee weapons to be one of them.

I played the first game competitively for a little while and it surely beats spamming shotguns. Haven't done anything competitive in L4D2 (was considering it, but I'm too lazy and don't play enough anymore to be up to par) so I'm not sure how this all works, though.
