Went and saw it today.
I think it's a very deep movie that succeeds because it presents a child's nightmare from a child's point of view, so it never breaks its own flow.
At the same time, I doubt it will do very well at the box office, as Americans are too afraid of sex and violence to want to show it to their children.

I've never read the book, but Neil Gaiman is wonderful. Will be on the lookout for this when it inevitibly appears in the UK in a few months...

It's a very well crafted piece. Even the fact of Coraline's name, which immediately serves to act as a barrier between her and the world (no-one can get the name right, they all call her "Caroline")
