Title: Most badass music ever (IMHO, honestly!)
Posted: September 25, 2009 (10:06 PM)
Hello everyone.

So, perusing the HG logs, I see many of you post about music in your blogs! Specially Genj, who I added as a friend just to get his music updates.

Well, I am a Jazz lover myself, perhaps a rarity here... I'm not into not Kenny G, mind you, but more like "Miles in Montreux '73" Jazz. (an ultra-rare live performance where the master is booed off-stage, yet makes music I love)

At any rate, I'm listening right now to the song which I think is the most badass ever. It may not be the best ever, but it is unaparalleled in badass-ness, if you ask me.

This song is called "Champagne of Course", and is performed by Terje Rypdal, Bjørnar Andresen & Espen Rud in their 1970 album "Min Bul".

Yes, it is ultra-obscure... but damn is it badass! I'm sure Honestgamers is a fine place to search for brave souls who would dare to seek this song out, so that's why I have shared this tidibit of my life with you.

Title: Der Langrisser reviewed
Posted: September 21, 2009 (03:39 PM)
Just submitted a Der Langrisser review.

It says the things I wanted to say about this game, so in many ways it's more of a review for bringing peace to my soul than anything else.

On the other hand, the many screenshots I submitted are mostly daft fun. I had quite a laugh collecting them, and I hope you have some too from seeing (reading, actually) them.

Title: Plot twist of the week
Posted: September 12, 2009 (12:09 AM)
I was just at "Armor games" the other day. It's a site where some serious flash gaming goes on. I wouldn't be surprised if some of you guys hated it, be it because it's just too casual or because a company where you worked at got bankrupt when its employees learned of it.

Anyway, I just finished playing one of their games, "Stick War". The game itself is good and challenging, tough little more than a way to spend one or two hours.

However, it ends with a twist that... well, i'll talk little of it, except that I didn't see it coming, and even if I did I wouldn't find it less brilliant.

It only makes sense in the game's context, and to learn about it you'd have to play the game to the end. But still, it's the best twist i've seen in a game for a looooong, long time.

And I just wanted to tell someone about it. So there!

Title: New review, after a lot of time idle.
Posted: August 22, 2009 (05:21 PM)
Hello Everyone.

After many months idle, I've submitted a review for the site.

It's for the PC version of Buck Rogers: Countdown to doomsday.

Hopefully, you'll like it. Or at least not hate it! :p

Well, I just reviewed that EXCELLENT game 'Phantasy Star Gaiden'.

I also am strating to think that the fate that befell the 'Valis' sseries was maybe not so horrible as that of 'Phantasy Star'...

Anyway, I'd love to compare this game with that PC-engine rpg that Zig reviewed once, something about a magic flute or whatnot, that got a 2/10 score.

(this one got a 1/10)

Title: 'My hero' review.
Posted: April 12, 2008 (04:30 PM)
I just submitted a review for this SMS game.

I'll admit it got longer than I expected, but this game made me feel so mocked that I felt I needed to express the whole extent of my hate for it.

Title: The first time I edit a review.
Posted: April 10, 2008 (02:21 PM)
As a Historian, I think that some flaws should be acknowledged as being 'existent' and therefore present their ugly faces to mankind so that people may learn with them. Especially when these flaws don't really do the world much harm and just boggle some intellectual-elite video-game afficcionados!

Therefore, I have a bit of a policy not to go around massively editing my flawed reviews.

Still, just because something is flawed, doesn't mean it should be ANNOYING as well!

My REVIEW for Ultima: Martian Dreams was deemed ANNOYING by people with influence because IT capitALIZES appAREntly RaNdOm LETTERS!

Learning from this mistake, i set out to repair this wrondingdoing and edit my review for the game so that it could be LESS ANNOYING!

Still, it's overall quality is pretty much the same! Only WITHOUT annoying CAPITALIZED LETTERS!

(well, with fewer of them, at least.)

Title: 'Ultima: Martian Dreams' Review
Posted: April 04, 2008 (07:03 PM)
I have just submitted a review for this game about that important historical moment when Sigmund Freud & Nikolai Tesla went to rescue those guys who got stranded in Mars.

It's a submission meant for the brevity contest, so it's a brief review!

Title: Warning forever reviewed.
Posted: March 29, 2008 (10:26 AM)
Since 'Warning Forever' has been added to the database, I have submitted my review for it!

And some nifty screenshots too.

Actually, 'Warning Forever' is one of those games that looks truly good when in motion, with all the explosions, the laser beams, the vulcan shots in the air, and all that. The still screenshots do the game little justice.

I'm off to play more 'Warning Forever'! Yay!

Title: HG cybersquatted?!
Posted: March 28, 2008 (11:43 PM)
So... I loaded the HG main page sometime earlier today... and was re-directed to a typical cyber-squatter site!

Later on I re-loaed the page and was was nice and peachy.

So... evil greedy undead cybersquatters loom over these premises?!

Title: Icewind Dale Review
Posted: March 21, 2008 (05:49 PM)
After reading the review about 'Hard to a God' and the comment on how the enemies were terribly stupid, I decided to write about another game that suffered with a similar scheme: Icewind Dale!

Title: Star Control 3 review up.
Posted: March 15, 2008 (09:58 AM)
All right, with the game now in the list, I submitted my review for it!

As soon as it is displayed on the site, i expect fans of 'Star Control 2' to come to my blog here and start demanding my head for giving the game 4 points more than they think it deserved!

Still, I don't see why it should be so hated in the gaming community. Come one guys! OK, so the ending sucked terribly (it's not much of a spoiler, because the ending is 'get dumped in the credits screen, the same clickable on the main menu'), but at least discovering that the precursors disappeared because [CLASSIFIED] was a really clever way of explaining it! Don't you think?!

Title: Where's 'Star Control 3'?!
Posted: March 14, 2008 (06:20 PM)
I have just written a review for the vilified adventure game (no, not RPG, not Strategy) 'Star Control 3'....

... and yet i cannot send it because it does not grace the site's game listings!

What should I do?!

Title: 'Growl' Review.
Posted: March 09, 2008 (11:06 PM)
Just posted a review for 'Growl', AKA 'Runark'.

'Runark' sound like a cool name, eh?!

Besides the name, the cover for this cartridge is also nice.

Too bad the game itself is pretty lame. Alas...

Zanzard.
