Time for a change... I think this sums me up pretty well:
Things tend to turn out well when you worry, so that's probably good. - EmP
I still <333 wolves, though.

Challange V has apparently vanished from all existence. Or at least the results topic has. Funny, too, since Jason had seemed upset at the idea of keeping the thing around and yet it's the more useful topic that gets lost. I thought the results topic had been preserved? If it had, it sure didn't last very long! Honestly... it can't take more than ten seconds to preserve topics. Granted, I'm not staff, but it just seems silly to me.
Of course, this happens right around the time I finally remember to ask sportsman to archive the stuff... *sigh*
Will, do you happen to have the results saved somewhere? You were the one compiling, and you seem like one to keep these things around in case something like this happens. If you could put them together again and make another topic, I'd be very grateful.
Man, I can't stand losing bits of history like this. Contests and RotWs are the only things I ask to be preserved around here. I'm sure I'm not the only one in favor of the idea.
Anyway, I feel bad about primarily attacking Jason here, especially since he does a lot for the site already. Really, the blame is shared by all staff with the power to preserve these topics. If neither Jason (because he's busy) nor EmP (because he was sick) could have preserved it (and any other topics, for that matter), then there are at least three other staff capable of doing it. I don't see why the two most active staffers have to constantly be the ones to tackle everything all the time. I mean, Jason and EmP are only two people, after all; sometimes things get missed, or things come up and one has to step aside for a while.

I don't want to throw around any blame, myself, because (a) it doesn't solve anything and (b) I don't even know how the staff system works.
However, I do agree it would be nice to have all the old ROTWs, contests, and tournaments saved for future reference.
Personally, I wish everything was saved, because I think most of the feedback here is useful and would be helpful to be able to reference. But I understand it's not cheap to keep a site running.

If the results thread is truly gone for good, I'm slightly bummed that I have little to show for the time and effort I put into that contest. Sounds petty, I know.

I had the results thread saved on my computer until about three days ago, when I was running out of space so I went through and deleted a bunch of stuff (including a couple other less noteworthy HG threads I had saved for whatever reason).
Yeah, I know I'm just twisting that knife, and my heart sank when I realized it. But maybe in the future we should all save important threads!

I have no clue how to make threads permanent UNLESS I was the person who initially posted the thread. After reading this, I was like, "I should check and see if I remembered to make my last RotW thread permanent," and then realized that clicking on "edit" or "details" didn't give me any options. So I don't know what's what!

Hm... Well, if you can't see how to preserve them anymore OD, maybe Jason changed the feature or did away with it entirely somehow. Or maybe the new URL changes that happened ages ago affected it somehow, though I remember it working just fine after that. I dunno.
In any case, Will said he saved the results, so that's a relief. Hopefully he can get around to reposting them soon if he doesn't forget.

That makes me sad. I made a really good joke about A-Man that I wanted to immortalize...
Maybe that's why it got deleted.
