wolfqueen001 Time for a change... I think this sums me up pretty well:

Things tend to turn out well when you worry, so that's probably good. - EmP

I still <333 wolves, though.

Title: I'm going to tell you all a secret...

To those of you who remember, a while ago, Felix and I held a little event where we each reviewed the same game and requested feedback on whose you thought was "better" or liked more. Sadly, while our first title generated quite a few votes, and got our hopes up, the second round was gravely disappointing. With only three of you voting, we let the topic go after a slightly elongated stint on life support.

I'm going to tell you all the real purpose of that experiment.

It was to gauge a level of interest in a potential event like that. But instead, we'd propose to the whole site that couples (or even maybe more) sub reviews for the same game at the same time. The purpose of this would be to hopefully generate an interest in reviewing unrelated to regular tournaments. It would just be an event - something neat to do, and potentially brag about for doing it. Kind of like EmP's Alpha thing. It'd also hopefully generate quality stuff to the site, and with a more intrigued user base, also generate more activity and creativity.

Sadly, there appeared to be little interest... At all. Now that may have something to do with the way we arranged it or the time it took us to actually get stuff done - I'm not sure - but the point remains that it didn't seem to be there. So, I'm proposing the idea again. Now that you all know what it means, how would you feel about an event like that? There would be no competition per sť. It'd just be a fun little thing to do. We'd make a general topic where any pair of people posted the games they'd be doing. It'd be up to the site as a whole whether they subbed feedback or not, depending on request or just plain courtesy. But no for sure that there would be no real winners or losers.

And to expand the idea, we might even have one individual review one game, then someone review the sequel for it at the same time.

And hey, if you participated in this, it'd generate a lot of cool side-by-side cover art appearances on the front page.

I'll tell you now that Felix and I still intend to finish our little event, but we just won't remake the topic. Unless there's more interest on-site and we can make a general topic for all of you.

So, what do you all think?

I think it's a neat idea. I would definitely participate if I weren't so busy with a bunch of other games I have to review ahead of it. Maybe I still would anyway, somewhere down the road, if this happens through the efforts of others. I hope that happens.

I like it! I'm going to try to post more on this event (and other potential ones similar to this one) in the next few days.

It sounds cool, but I can't promise I'll take part. My reviewing activity is almost non-existent, right now.

Oh...that's right. I still have to give you guys those promised critiques of Fire n Ice sometime. Don't worry, it will happen, even if it takes so long neither of you remember doing those reviews.

I support this idea.
