Title: Games I want/should review or have reviewed (Also includes my list for EmP's Marathon Challenge)
Posted: January 29, 2008 (04:46 PM)
...or lack of list, as it's very incomplete right now for reasons I explain later.
Suggestions are welcome. Sorry if this gets a bit long and long-winded; I tend to over-explain myself sometimes. E: XD I love how this list gets longer instead of shorter. Games I want to review either for kicks or because someone recommended it: DS: Contra 4 Fossil Fighters Game Boy: Pokemon Yellow Game Boy Color: Pokemon Gold/Silver (whichever one I feel like) Game Boy Advance: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire (whichever I feel like) Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green (whichever I feel like) (Note: Yes, I'm almost as big a Pokemon game fan as VM is). Genesis NES: Dragon Warrior Dragon Warrior III Gauntlet Metroid PC: Age of Empires III Age of Mythology Dungeon Siege Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Heroes of Might and Magic II Heroes of Might and Magic III Heroes of Might and Magic IV Nancy Drew: Mystery at Waverly Academy Sam & Max 201: Ice Station Santa Speedball 2 Tales of Monkey Island Episode 1: Launch of the Screeching Narwhal Wizardry 8 Playstation: Castlevania: Symphony of Night (wish we still had ours) Final Fantasy Origins Final Fantasy VII (wish the copy we borrowed weren't scratched) Lost World: Jurassic Park Medievil I Medievil II Spyro the Dragon Spyro: Year of the Dragon Tekken 2 Yu-Gi-Oh: Forbidden Memories (We only ever managed to borrow or rent this... can't find a copy of it anywhere anymore) Playstation 2: Final Fantasy X .hack//Mutation .hack//Outbreak .hack//Quarantine .hack//G.U. Reminisce .hack//G.U. Redemption Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Medal of Honor: Frontline (vanished) Medal of Honor: Rising Sun Medal of Honor: European Assault (also vanished...) Metal Gear Solid 3 Nightfire (>.> This is the James Bond one, right? Yes.) Primal (was a borrowed copy... plus it's almost unbeatable without the guidebook) Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (also a borrowed copy... don't have it anymore Ratchet and Clank (same as Prince of Persia) Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly (Another borrowed copy we don't have anymore) Yu-Gi-Oh: Duelists of the Roses (lol fun game with weird historical elements. Wish I actually owned it, though) Sega CD Saturn: Note: All of the above systems except for PC and NES are inaccessible as of right now, so I might not be generating reviews from them for a while unless it's for a game I recently played (i.e. RE4). Suggestions for other systems and games for the listed systems would be appreciated. Also, I have not included games in that list I've not played before (I don't think); I just may not have access to them right now, as some of the parenthetical notations indicate. Now to make a list for the Alphabet tourney, I guess. Some of these games will be repeated from above. Actually, all the letters I have available from above will be listed. Alternative suggestions would also be appreciated, so as to vary my list, I guess. I've not included games in this list I would have to review from memory of over three months or so ago (with the exception of a few that can be reviewed thusly). I've also not listed games that've been recommended but I've not played before so as to leave open for more suggestions, nor games that I can no longer play because I don't have access to the system or I don't have the game anymore or they were borrowed. Edit: The games already added in this list are subject to change... such has happened with A. #: 3D Battles of World Runner A: Ai Sensei no Oshiete: Watashi no Hoshi B: Bad Dudes C: Crystalis D: Digimon World E: Earthworm Jim F: Fire 'N Ice G: The Getaway H: .hack//G.U. Vol.1: Rebirth I: Incredible Crash Test Dummies J: Just Breed K: Kingdom Hearts L: Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring M: Metal Gear Solid N: O: P: Pokemon Gold/Silver/Ruby/Sapphire/Fire Red/Leaf Green (haven't decided yet) Q: Q*bert R: Resident Evil 4 S: Sam & Max: Abe Lincoln Must Die T: Twinkle Tale U: V: Virtua Fighter CG Portrait Series Vol. 9: Kage Maru W: Worms Armageddon X: X-Men: Mutant Academy Y: Ys Z:

Even if you have no interest in beating EmP, going all the way and writing at least one review for each letter of the alphabet seems to be a fun way to challenge yourself. I'm glad you're going for it!

If you have a fairly high end PC get Supreme Commander.

I'm curious about something here.

Suskie: Yeah; I have no intention of beating EmP. I just want to try and beat the challenge as is.
Sportsman: Thanks. I'll check it out sometime. Unfortunately something I forgot to mention is while I have access to a PC, I can't exactly go to the nearest Blockbuster and rent games from them... stupid college. Maybe I'll have Dad get it... he's the one I get all my PC stuff from anyway (and I only ever play PC stuff at his house, too, which I visit often enough to have it included here). About the only thing I can do as of right now in the dorm is play emulated NES games. Felix: XD Yes. Animorphs. Used to be a huge fan when while I was younger (between 8-13). It's about a quintet of kids who were given the ability to turn themselves into any animal on the planet (or universe - it's sort of scifi) by absorbing the DNA of that creature. They use this power to battle the invding aliens, which are basically slugs that control the minds of their hosts. It's a bit silly, I'd admit, but when you're that young, you tend to like those kinds of things (right? >.>;). The game itself was kind of Pokemon-ish (the battle system adventure map, etc) except shorter and with a more focused plot.

The whole "beat me to the finish line" is just an addition; the main reason I put this together was so that people had a reason to push themselves a little more and to prompt them to try their hand at somer reviews they would have otherwise never touched.
I'm really keen to see you (and others) actually manage to do all 27 reviews this year (Don't forget #!). It's gratifying to see something I hope to release every year get off to such a possative start. But don't get me wrong. I still intend be the first to finish.

Your intentions are noble. And I've been needing to write more anyway. So you achieved your purpose, I suppose.
List ammended. ...I hate #. The only games I can think of that I might want to play are those 5 Days a Stranger/7 Days a Skeptic/etc series that I won't have access to, probably. Thanks, though. I hope I can do it, too, though I fear most of my stuff''ll be emulated... perhaps not a bad thing, but it narrows variety.

I love Animorphs! I used to read them all the time. They were... my sister's.
