Things to do for finals week
April 27, 2009

(that's this week)

1: Finish this scientific controversy paper for philosophy. Finished as of Thursday 4/30, three days after originally intended.

2: Study for Spanish final. Take Spanish placement exam for study abroad by tomorrow morning

3: Take Spanish final tomorrow at 1

4: Revise my history paper, which really needs it. Refocus it around Parliament because that's way cooler and more specific. Due Thursday; ask for an extension, lol

5: Somewhere find time to study for my theology final Friday

6: Somewhere find time to study for my Statistics final Saturday

7: Don't die

8: Write a review? lolololol what riiiiight

9: Pray I can get on AIM sometime before I have to leave because I'd like to unwind, thank you.

10: Don't die

11: Pray to some superior power that I don't go insane

12: Submit to that superior power utterly and admit my utter helplessness to do anything.

Oh, wait. That's off-tangent now.

13: Don't become an alcoholic. In fact, don't drink at all, despite how tempted I might be by the end of the week

There.

14: Somehow find time to pack up all my things and leave.

15: Try not to melt or explode when my mom yells at me for not doing anything in regards to packing to leave or preparing for Spain beyond that which I've already done (at least I made photocopies and took care of the bureaucratic shit, though I'm still waiting for the incompetent registrar's office to send the program manager the permission numbers so we can actually sign up for classes, thanks).

16: Don't get a hernia (goes in with the "not dying" and "not drinking" thing)

I'll be OK! I think?!?! =D =D =D =D lololol

(Important Note: While to some of you it may look like I haven't really been "gone", I assure you that I haven't been around the internet that much recently at all. Though I will admit to pissing the whole day yesterday sleeping mainly because for whatever reason (I blame the weather),I was dead-beat tired and so didn't do any work, even when I was awake, save write the intro and a few sentences to this paper. Fortunately, I had the most restless sleep last night that I "slept" for maybe 2½ hours, even though it didn't feel like it, so I just woke up pumped and wired today at like 5:30 in the morning despite how nonsensical that sounds. Also note, I did not add a number 17: "despair over lost day" because quite frankly, it's futile to do so - despair that is - and my prof is so merciful and flexible that it's amazing. God bless him.)

You'll be okay. Soon, all of that will subside, and you'll find yourself in Spain playing 108 holes of mini golf and eating McDonalds.

...wait.

Hahaha... I just stayed up till five in the morning again.... Luckily my Spanish final's at 1:00 in the afternon. Unluckily I got stupid on paper and didn't write anymore of it. Like stupider than that last sentence. Stupid placement exam took like 7 hours.... stupid bullshit. Not 40 minutes... no... because I can't take tests fastly enough.

And haha. Well, whose fault is that for staying in the boring Anglo-German tourist part of the island? I'm supposed to get the awesome real food with the awesome real culture.

Zzzz

Just don't get awesome real tap water or you will spend your vacation in an awesome real hospital wishing for sweet and merciful death.

Haha. Actually, the director of the program, who's actually from there, said the tap water is safe to drink, but that you might not want to because it'll be kind of salty and gross, and there are restrictions on how much you can use.

Have you been plagued with horrible nastiness from drinking the water in Mallorca before? (I didn't even know you'v been to Mallorca, to be honest. =P)

Not drinking tap water covers all of Spain.

Just don't. Trust me on this.

I have been to Lloret, Barcelona and Monteserrat. Just don't drink tap water, yes there is a chance you won't catch anything, but hey, if there is also a chance you will...don't risk it. You worked hard enough to get where you are, no reason to sod it up by this.

Also, if you have an urge to embrace the american culture while in Spain, by, let's say going to Mcdonalds just a warning, when I went to a Mcdonalds in Barcelona and went to the bathroom...I saw things that no human being should ever see. Filthy bastards.

Heheh... Alright. I won't be drinking the tap water, then. Thanks for the warning, both.

I have no intention whatsoever of 'embracing my American culture while abroad', haha, because quite frankly, that would be boring. And I never use the bathrooms at McDonald's anyway. So no worries there. =D

I just hope I have enough money to live on bottled water. I've no idea how much more (or less) expensive Europe is... minus the exchange ratios.

In other news... it's 7:30... I just finished my philosophy paper half an hour ago... and I didn't slep last night. Again. Now I need to do my history paper... which needs a lot of fixing... probably won't be able to study for my last two finals... especially not if I have to stretch my time working on it into Friday or Saturday... with Saturday being the limit... very very limit... Guess I'll just fail those...

God I'm tired. And something tells me I won't be able to fall asleep anyway because I tried that three hours ago and it didn't work. It was like my body was screaming for sleep, but my mind wouldn't shut off. At all. It's like "lol you're so tired you're not tired" and then I'll pass out or something I guess.

Someone please kill me.

It might be a good idea to invest a few bucks at any Grocery Store or a Wal Mart while you're here to get a Brita Filtered Pitcher. It's incredibly easy to use; I use it to filter the tap swill that we have here and it tastes amazing (very close to the taste of bottled water). Since you won't be there long enough, you won't have to worry about replacing the filter either. Just buy one case of bottled water, and fill up the empty bottles with your filtered water. Very good and very economical (it's only like $13 for said pitcher).
