Title: Wayne's List of New Year's Resolutions
Posted: December 30, 2007 (11:42 AM)
The first day of 2008 is fast approaching, and I'll be out with everyone else partying like crazy. And since I'll probably be too tired to type anything over the next few days, I figured now would be a good time to post my resolutions for '08. And here, friends and fellows, they are:

Convert to masochism. Getting beat up would be fun again!

Get another copy of Zelda Collector's Edition. I probably should've anyway, but there you go. As for the old one, I'll miss it.

Make three or more new guides. If I can do three over the space of a single summer, I can do three in a year.

Review more. I can't believe that I've only done, like, four reviews when people like Overdrive have done, like, 200. (I'm not stretching the truth; check his blog.)

Start a new religion, then sell the position of head religious leader on eBay. Self-explanatory.

Write a few really sweet songs, then join a band. I've actually tried my hand at song-writing, and I'm pretty proud of the results. And no one in the songs raps, so that's a good thing.

Mail my Christmas cards. I should probably just write "Happy St. Patrick's Day" on 'em, and leave it at that. They'll come at about that time.

Film funny stuff and put it on YouTube. I'm probably the only one these days who doesn't.

And, finally...

Keep this wicked sweet blog running! I started it, I think, in March of last year. I don't know which day exactly, but I'll probably celebrate my blog's first anniversary on the ides of March.

Happy New Year, everybody! If anyone needs me, I'll be in the living room playing multiplayer anything.

Title: A Legend of Zelda Night Before Christmas
Posted: December 24, 2007 (07:12 AM)
Well, people, it's that time of year again. It's Christmas tomorrow, and as it is Christmas Eve, it seems only natural to do a Night Before Christmas poem. And as this is HonestGamers, I decided to revive a poem that I sent last holiday season as an email. So, here goes:

===

A LEGEND OF ZELDA NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through Hyrule,
All the Hylians were preparing for yule.

The Kokiri Forest looked especially bright,
For the Great Deku Tree had been decked out in lights.

The peak of Death Mountain was covered in snow,
So out to the ice rinks the Gorons did go,

As did the Zoras (all the water was ice,
And the fish Jabu-Jabu thought this was quite nice).

And Talon and Malon, by their fireplace with care,
Placed cookies and a bottle of Lon Lon Milk there.

Even at Ganon's fortress, he and all of his goons
Danced to the big organ (it played loud Christmas tunes!)

And at Hyrule Castle, the crown roast was hearty,
For the kind royal family was throwing a party.

But as the clock struck twelve, there arose such a clatter!
Princess Zelda sprang up to see what was the matter.

She dashed out of the ballroom, down to the main floor,
And said "Lower the drawbridge! Please, open the door!"

The drawbridge was down... no site greeted her eyes.
(Little did she know she was in for a surprise!)

Then, off in the distance, she heard a faint trill:
'Twas the sound of a flute from o'er the foothill.

She recognized the instrument, hollow and round,
And knew whose ocarina made that kind of sound.

Then what to her wondering eyes should appear
But a man on a horse! And she let out a cheer.

The horse was light-brown (just the color of cider),
But the really remarkable one was her rider.

He posessed sword and shield, and had sandy-blond hair
That shone in the light as he hopped off the mare.

He wore a green tunic, and on his left hand
The Triforce of Courage was etched like a brand.

He placed a red sack full of gifts on the snow,
Then mounted his horse, yelling "Epona, go!"

But she heard him exclaim ere he rode out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

This is a cute little holiday tradition that I started last year, and it seemed perfect for my blog. Feedback? Questions? Comments? Feel free. This is only a draft, and it's open to editing.

Title: Wayne's Brain, Live and Unplugged
Posted: December 23, 2007 (02:46 PM)
As Christmas draws even nearer, I realize that while I have some sweet blog posts for the next few days (LoZ Night Before Christmas!! New Year's Resolutions!!), I've really run out of stuff to talk about. So, I'm going to compile a list of whatever pops into my head, and type it. So, here goes...

===

I feel asleep!

Uh-oh! The truck have started to move!

No one can stop Mr. Domino!

I have so lost it.

Has anyone seen my copy of Zelda Collector's Edition?

Mega Man III was a good game.

I ought to consider posting on the forums.

Welcome to Warp Zone!

Do a barrel roll!

Why the heck did they cancel Emeril Live?! That was a great show!

I have a new idea on how to save some paper!

It's snowing outside.

No, really.

How many Robot Masters are there, anyway?
8 x 8 = 64
64 - 2 = 62 (Time Man and Oil Man don't count.)
And what are their names? Well, here goes:
Cut Man (Rolling Cutter)

Air Man (Air Shooter)
Bubble Man (Bubble Lead)
Quick Man (Quick Boomerang)
Crash Man (Crash Bomb)

Sword Man (Flame Sword)
Clown Man (Thunder Claw)
Search Man (Homing Sniper)
Frost Man (Ice Wave)
Grenade Man (Flash Bomb)
Aqua Man (Water Balloon)

There is nothing to fear but Chuck himself.

And rabid squirrels.

Aquas' avatar hypnotizes me for hours on end.

Those Mega Men in the background of my blog are watching me. I know they are. And they're watching YOU, too!

===

That was intense! You know, I think I'm gonna put the ol' brain to sleep for the rest of the day. It did such a good job, I'm going to reward it with reruns of Emeril Live, now. Everyone, give a hand for my brain! Yeah.

Title: Get ready!
Posted: December 17, 2007 (03:42 PM)
Expect a Legend of Zelda Night Before Christmas poem to come up soon (or, more specifically, on Christmas Eve).

It's the funniest thing I've ever written (they put lights on the Deku Tree! The Gorons go ICE SKATING!). I can't wait to show it to the world at the appropriate time. I also can't wait for Christmas.

Well, I'm finally going to buy some raffle tickets and try to win that Wii. I don't have much of a chance, but I'll give it the ol' college try. I'm at 4995 HG Points right now, and this last blog post will push me over the edge in terms of pointage. Yay.

Title: Awaiting freedom...
Posted: November 28, 2007 (03:38 PM)
Well, I ordered the self-titled album by The Protomen exactly a week ago, but it hasn't arrived yet. I must await the freedom of mankind and join the rebellion. While I do that, I'll also watch postapocalyptic-future-death movies. And carry a Beretta everywhere I go. And maybe become a cyborg.

EDIT: And maybe grow chest hair made of Kevlar.
