Iron Lore Entertainment was an internal THQ developer that chose to focus its effort on PC projects, which themselves were generally well-regarded (Titan Quest, for example, fared quite well). However, the PC-only model was cited by THQ's Michael Fitch as the reason for the company's eventual demise. In a forum post at the end of February, 2008 (right as the company's closure was announced), an apparently angry Fitch explained that ultimately the company's doors closed because of video game piracy that leeched away potential sales, along with stupid users and reviewers who didn't know what they were talking about.

Titan Quest (PC) [June 26, 2006]
There are numerous companies in the industry, and their names change like the weather. The information above is not particular about the finer details. Acquisitions are common, so companies with no recent listings may still be developing games under a new name. For example, DMA Design currently has a Rockstar name.
