Game: Final Fantasy X-2 (PlayStation 2)
Posted: July 08, 2005 (09:17 AM)
After the events in FFX, life resumed peacefully, with the threat of the extraordinarily hideous Sin gone. The setting is once again Spira and regions such as Zanarkand, Besaid, and Luca, albeit with several changes. The most noticeable one is that Spira is no longer the gloomy, almost claustrophobic world it once was where everybody was pessimistic and whining about their fate. People are now more cheerful, and it is immediately obvious Sin is nothing more than a souvenir now. To prove this eve...

Game: Pipe Dream (NES)
Posted: January 22, 2004 (05:12 AM)
I'm usually not a big fan of puzzlers, but Pipe Dream nevertheless enthralled me thanks to its simple designs and a totally intuitive game play. As you may have guessed, this game revolves around pipes, your main objective being to build consistent pipelines to allow a white sticky liquid to flow through it. The core principles are really that simple, but of course, the game itself is challenging and very tough (near the end) while never losing its charm.

Game: Ka-Ge-Ki - Fists of Steel (Genesis)

In reality, Ka Ge Ki got all the attention it now has when Hangedman, a reviewing buddy, got the idea of asking everyone to review the game. And thus did some reviewers who obviously had time and money to spare.

Game: Hydlide (NES)

Rumors have it that Hydlide was released on this planet to turn humans into weaklings so a bunch of cutesy, bi-colored characters could invade us.

Game: Chicken Run (Game Boy Color)
Posted: December 18, 2003 (07:58 AM)
Movies usually makes lousy games –at most, decent. Don’t worry; Chicken Run is no exception. It isn’t a decent game –rather, it is a lousy game. The repetition in this introduction can as a matter of fact be observed throughout the whole game.

Game: Tecmo Cup Soccer Game (NES)
Posted: December 18, 2003 (01:58 AM)
Once upon a time, grew a boy, in Japan, called Tsubasa Ozora. Tsubasa would ever since his birth act differently from his peers. Indeed, while his buddies would relentlessly talk about their favorite comics, movies and girls, Tsubasa would remain alone. It should however be said that Tsubasa was not really alone. He would spend a lot of time with his best friend. His best friend was a ball, a football (soccer).

Game: Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition (PC)
Posted: December 18, 2003 (01:56 AM)
Does Unreal Tournament, widely considered as one of the best first-person shooters around (if not the best!), even need to be introduced? Hell, for many, UT is even much more than that (i.e. the best FPS around). When Unreal was released, it did what many games hoped to do, but almost always miserably failed. It caught gamers’ attention, and caused them to show interest in a genre they once ignored, or maybe even despised. I personally never cared for first-person shooters before that glo...

Game: Captain Tsubasa III: Koutei no Chousen (Super Nintendo)
Posted: October 19, 2003 (06:46 AM)
I remember the first time I watched Captain Tsubasa. Football (or soccer) meant absolutely nothing to me back then, but morbid curiosity (or my tendency to try and make fun of everything) and boredom convinced me to watch the entire episode. And what I saw was very refreshing (as opposed to the usual decrepit anime). Captain Tsubasa had everything you could hope for: a good plot (albeit being a bit predictable from time to time), lovable characters (in most cases) and something else that ...

Game: Captain Tsubasa V: Hasha no Shougou Canpione (Super Nintendo)
Posted: June 24, 2003 (10:31 AM)
Very few series can claim to be as successful as the Captain Tsubasa series. By ''Successful'', I am not referring to the sales of the game or how popular it was when it was released. I am referring to the essence of games, that thing that simply drags you in and makes you yearn for more. The video game industry abounds with series in every genre. As a matter of fact, one could even say it is plagued with such series, with titles that fail to appeal, but that continue to be release...
