Gunblade NY & L.A. Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack review (WII)Reviewed on June 11, 2011With Sega releasing a light-gun title on the Wii at nearly a yearly rate, you'd think a Virtua Cop collection would be inevitable. Instead, Wii owners get blindsided by one of the most unexpected releases ever: Gunblade NY and L.A. Machineguns on one disc. |

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years review (WII)Reviewed on June 04, 2011This is what happens when you stretch a story out longer than it needs to be. |

Okami review (WII)Reviewed on May 20, 2011Romel Ramos - For ninety-nine years, the demon lord Orochi lay imprisoned and the lands of Nippon were peaceful. However, one fateful day the holy sword used to seal Orochi’s corpse was stolen and his evil escaped, which in effect cursed the lands, spreading an infectious mist that suffocated everything it touched. The land, being in a complete state of destruction and pleading for help, triggers the Sun Goddess Amaterasu to return in attempt to defeat Orochi once more as she did one hundred yea |

Conduit 2 review (WII)Reviewed on May 03, 2011Conduit 2 is fine for Wii owners searching for a decent shooter, but fans of the genre shouldn’t expect anything special from it. |

Cave Story review (WII)Reviewed on January 19, 2011I knew after ages of searching through scores of dull family games, pointless platformer reboots, and obscure puzzle games that I would find a WiiWare game actually worth the price of admission. This game, ladies and gentlemen, is Cave Story. Never mind that this game is free on PC, the Wii version gives us a few new goodies, as well as updated graphics and sounds, the ability to use a controller instead of relying on a keyboard, and the same amazing gameplay that make it worth the $12 ... |

101-in-1 Sports Party Megamix review (WII)Reviewed on January 11, 2011I’m simply going to present the facts. Nothing here works. Even with its budget title status, it’s not worth the price of admission. |

Domino Rally review (WII)Reviewed on January 09, 2011You know those Japanese games with stupid-sounding gimmicks that rarely get released outside their native country, in fear of not selling well? Domino Rally is one such game that made it outside. Judging by the name, you're thinking this is just some domino... rally game. And you'd be sorta right. Domino Rally is about a man, or thing... this superhero, let's say, called Minon. He, or it, wears a yellow track suit, a face mask, and electronic visor with the words "Go! Go!" on it, l... |

New Play Control! Pikmin review (WII)Reviewed on January 06, 2011Captain Olimar, a tiny space alien, is a manipulative bastard. Upon crash landing on a strange planet, Olimar discovers the Pikmin – little plant creatures that are so brainless they would march to their deaths if Olimar forced them to. And sometimes Olimar does. He has only thirty days to find all the pieces of his ruined space ship, and he needs the help of the Pikmin to carry these pieces, and if some Pikmin need to die to achieve this... then so be it. |

Metroid: Other M review (WII)Reviewed on December 30, 2010Metroid: Other M tells two stories. One is the story of Samus Aran, galactic bounty hunter - a story that is objectionable because it is poorly written and incompetently executed. The other is the story of Yoshio Sakamoto, videogame developer - a story that is objectionable because it keeps barging in on Metroid: Other M. |

MadWorld review (WII)Reviewed on December 08, 2010Our man Jack isn't just dismembering for the hell of it. He's a man on a mission, sent to an isolated island where a bloody sport is being held. The citizens of the island have all become contestants of Death Watch, a game in which contestants kill one another for a crack at the championship. Jack poses as a contestant at first, but over time we see what he's really after. More is revealed that thickens the plot and gives the game that much more depth and style. It's refreshing to play and over-... |

WarioWare: Smooth Moves review (WII)Reviewed on December 04, 2010Some time during the evening it strikes me that - at least when seen through the foam in the bottom of the glass - Smooth Moves is a brilliant game. It is also a brilliant production, in terms of economical and efficient development - the simplistic graphics and the somewhat cheap meting out of new mini-games makes that much obvious. But the game is also directed and paced well quite often, so it is difficult not to complement the developers for making a good motion-based game. Even if they, too... |

Sonic Colors review (WII)Reviewed on December 01, 2010The Sonic series has been a mess since Sonic Adventure was released over a decade ago. Now, I don't blame Sonic Team for trying something different in their first, real attempt to bring the series into 3D, however, at the same time, this risk created an identity crisis for the franchise. In nearly every game, there was usually more of something else than what made the Sonic series "Sonic": fishing with a big cat, beating up monsters with a Ristar-wannabe, searching for random emeralds with a con... |

Muscle March review (WII)Reviewed on October 31, 2010You've likely seen the trailer for this game on a video website. You know, the one where a bunch of confusing sequences are tossed in your face while weird J-Pop music plays in the background? And there was this highly enthusiastic Japanese announcer constantly shouting, throwing in a few Engrish words every so often. I'm sure some of you blocked it out of your mind, but there were also a ton of happy, muscly men in thongs. One was sporting a killer mohawk. Another was wearing a top hat. There w... |

The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return review (WII)Reviewed on October 24, 2010There's a lot of whys when reacting to this particular release: Why not include the first game? Why these specific titles? Why the absurdly long name? Well, I'm guessing they simply used the Xbox versions, modified them a bit, and slapped them on a Wii disc. That would explain a whole lot... but since I've never touched the Xbox port, I could be waaaaaay off. As for the name, well, the name is just stupid, no matter how you spin it. |

Sonic and the Secret Rings review (WII)Reviewed on October 04, 2010Sonic and the Secret Rings is the console successor to Sonic 06. That's rough. However, you'd think Sonic Team learned from their experience with that mess of a product and strove to improve with the follow-up, reassuring the gaming public that 06 was a freak accident. |

Muramasa: The Demon Blade review (WII)Reviewed on September 10, 2010Muramasa: The Demon Blade is a side-scrolling, 2D title from Vanillaware, featuring beautifully-drawn art and fluid animation. |

Metroid: Other M review (WII)Reviewed on September 07, 2010It’s not easy being Samus Aran. She’s the most badass bounty hunter in the galaxy…but that’s all anyone cares about. Everyone knows about her insanely powerful weapons, legendary battles, and the mass destruction she’ll inevitably trigger. But they all forget something far more important: there’s a person hiding beneath those layers of impenetrable armor and advanced technology. Not just the cold and calculating killer, but an introspective, flawed, and vulnerable individual. Such things don’t m... |

Ivy the Kiwi? review (WII)Reviewed on August 31, 2010NO, this game has absolutely no connections with Kiwi Kraze (The New Zealand Story), other than they both use the word Kiwi in their titles. Ivy the Kiwi? has much more in common with Lemmings and Mario & Wario, where you are an invisible force that must guide a fast little bird through various mazes in a quest to find her mother. You aide the newborn by creating vines that'll help her climb over walls, or use them like shields against such dastardly foes as rats and water drops. Y... |

Madden NFL 11 review (WII)Reviewed on August 16, 2010All of these choices reinforce your self-image, plus they present more challenges than simply winning games and piling up stats. There are many ways in which the Wii version of Madden can't ever compete with its HD counterparts, but these changes to Franchise Mode define it as a desirable parallel. |

Wii Fit Plus review (WII)Reviewed on August 08, 2010A mouth and faceless trainer inexplicably exhales an expression into my ear, insisting that my posture is fantastic. Then the Wii Fit board under my feet speaks to me in unnaturally cheery beeps. This is probably the most unsettling thing I have ever experienced, until the FitPiggy(tm) twirls into the screen, declaring that I have recently burned calories worth about the same as licking the paper of a chocolate health-bar. |
