Gears of War of manages to include all of these ingredients, from blood splatting across the screen to intense battle sequences against a horde of foes. The humor is more reminiscent of Ollie the Magic Bum than it is the days when Bam Magera terrorized the gameplay (though his fans will be happy to know that he is here again). Sonic the Hedgehog review (X360)Reviewed on November 24, 2006Despite what the title might imply, Sonic won't be the only hedgehog you'll be controlling in Sonic the Hedgehog. However, Shadow, along with the new addition to the cast, Silver, won't be available right away, leaving you to mess around with Sonic for the time-being. Which isn't a bad thing. I mean, it's Sonic, so you'll be treated to the typical, fast-paced, energetic stages that we've all known and love, right? |

Call of Duty 3 review (X360)Reviewed on November 24, 2006Unlike its predecessor, I can’t remember many dramatic, pivotal battles from Call of Duty 3. This time, instead of dipping in and out of the war, you take part in the Normandy Breakout. CoD 3 attempts to involve you in this extended conflict by using lengthy cut-scenes to push forward its story. I still don’t care about the names, though! I would’ve rather listened to a History Channel interlude on the state of the battle than a Scottish SAS man insult a French resistant fighter. Save the heroes and villains for Spielberg, Treyarch. |

The massive Locust creature fires a rocket that thankfully flies over my head from behind the cover. While he reloads I stick my noggin out and unleash a flurry of Bullets into the beastly creature. No luck, he continues to stand and prepares another shot that slams into the hard concrete slab in front of me. I slide my face out unleash another full clip of ammo, and watch as vile Locust falls over on his back ... |

Amped 3 review (X360)Reviewed on September 30, 2006You'll also find yourself hired by a Canadian sock-puppet to hunt down a yeti. After being filled in by your odd employer (who uses a sock puppet of his very own to characterise the yeti!) you'll have to chase the abominable snowman down a particularly treacherous slope, outscoring him as he pulls mad tricks on his own snowboard to secure his capture. He'll backflip off an icy ramp and land precariously on a rail which he'll grind down, popping off stunts as he goes. Do the same or be shown up by the missing link! |

MotoGP 06 review (X360)Reviewed on September 25, 2006Chances are, if you're playing MotoGP'06 for the first time, you're gonna crash. A lot. This is thanks mostly to the feeling of the controls when you're driving your bike. It feels awkward at first, and after a few laps, you start to wonder if Climax screwed up. But, if you're willing to stick with the controls for a little bit longer, you'll start to get how things work and why they work that way. And once you're over that, you begin to enjoy the other aspects that make up this title. |

Frogger review (X360)Reviewed on September 21, 2006Now when you start out onto the highway and you press ‘up’ on the controller, the frog immediately springs forth from the curb and dives into the adventure. When you press ‘left’ he doesn’t drift up into a truck in the next lane. Instead, he actually moves in the direction you specified! That’s a good improvement. |

Over the last ten years it has skyrocketed in popularity and can be watched all around the world. Due to its popularity, the game is now available on Xbox Live Arcade. Dead Rising review (X360)Reviewed on September 14, 2006I had reservations about Dead Rising before I bought it -- before I reached Steven Chapman’s twisted (yet very clean) supermarket even. As compulsive as the mass-slaughter of hoards of zombies may be, this premise screamed “one trick pony". It’s all very well squeezing a kazillion of these undead monsters on screen at once, but survival horror is about more than beheading zombies all day. |

Bomberman - Act: Zero review (X360)Reviewed on September 04, 2006Despite all of its (well-intentioned?) efforts to give the series a fresh, hardcore coat of paint, it just doesn’t do enough things right for the aesthetic focus to mean anything more than that you’ve just dropped a wad of cash on a $10 game. The carefully-rendered backgrounds do a great job of slapping you across the face with the notion that this world is desolate, but they don’t add anything to the play mechanics. |

Dead Rising review (X360)Reviewed on August 25, 2006When I first heard of Dead Rising I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Now that I’ve had a chance to spend some time with the game I’m only slightly disappointed. The game drops you into the shoes of Frank West, a photojournalist looking for his big scoop. He gets more than he bargains for when he’s dropped off at the local mall where a zombie outbreak has occurred. From that point he has 72 hours (not actual game time) to get his story. |
