Grandia II review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownGrandia 2 benefits strongly from the lack of competition on the Dreamcast. It's just that simple. If Grandia 2 was on the Playstation, it would be dwarved by other, better role playing games. |

Shenmue II review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownShenmue II is well worth a purchase if you want an engrossing story, backed up with some stunning set-pieces, strong characterisation, and ducks. |

Jet Grind Radio review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownFrom what I understand, Sega created a new program, apparently called ''CelShader,'' that draws a black outline around three-dimensional polygon figures, giving them a cartoony-look. Well, they decided to use this in Jet Grind Radio, and the result is some very pretty characters. |

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownIf you're even a remote fan of Marvel comic books, Capcom fighting games, or fighting games in general, then this game has something to offer to you. |

NBA 2K2 review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownNBA2K2 is the pinnacle of basketball gaming at this point in time. No other game offers all the features and just straight out basketball options that NBA2K2 does. The only competitor to NBA2K2's throne, the NBA Live series, is still grossly behind the greatness that is NBA2K2. |

NFL 2K1 review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownBoth the play-by-play and color commentary are awesome, and that play-by-play excellence should be noted a million times. The commentators accurately depict the events of the contest, and include player names, yardage, and... |

NFL 2K1 review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownI've played many a football game in my day, but none of them have ever matched Super Tecmo Bowl for the NES, not even last year's stellar NFL 2K. Now, the folks at Visual Concepts have just made that old Tecmo dev team weep bitterly- NFL 2K1 is the best football game ever made. EVER. The game is fine tuned to perfection, with only a few (understandable) faults. |

NHL 2K review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownAnd finally, even on All-Star mode, it's too damn easy to score goals, and it's too damn hard for the other team to score. This basically leaves you to either an undefeated season, or a 150-point journey... |

Phantasy Star Online review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownNot only are the textures incredibly smooth and detailed, but the characters are very well animated, and their appearance changes under certain lights, such as turning a realistic orange tint under an orange light, and looking like a disco bouncer when standing under a teleport, with the strobe light effect reflecting on them. |

Phantasy Star Online review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownStriking with all the ferocity of a bolt of lightening from the right palm of God, Phantasy Star Online begs the question: ''What the hell happened to Sega?'' |

Shenmue review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownIn the vast universe of gaming, there are some titles that are about as shallow as a children's swimming pool at a YMCA. And on the other hand, there are titles that are so vast that the Pacific Ocean wouldn't even match in comparison. Shenmue for the Sega Dreamcast is just that deep. |
||
Shenmue review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownWith plenty of twists and turns and loops and corkscrews, and several different ways to reach a certain objective, the story is neither flat nor boring. And, may I note, is a far different story than your traditional RPG, along with a difference in gameplay. |

Skies of Arcadia review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe term ''greatest game ever'' or ''greatest RPG ever made'' is used about everytime a RPG- be it Square or somebody else- is released. Skies of Arcadia is the latest epic to- hopefully- get this moniker. |
||
Sonic Adventure review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownSee, the game isn't just about action stages. Taking a note from Mario, Sega decided to include a central hub that collects levels. This area is populated by people and wide open spaces where nothing is happening. To get from one area to the next, Sonic must traverse the extremely dull hub, and perhaps even solve a few puzzles along the way. Even if he happens to be retrieving some power-up, though, this portion of the game is downright dull. |

Sonic Adventure review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownI was all excited when I first heard of Sonic Adventure and got my Dreamcast. I thought that it would be just like the other Sonic games for Genesis, like Sonic 2, which I thought was a work of art, only in the third dimension. I even saw a demo of it playng in a store, and thought it was still good. I also purchased Soul Calibur for Dreamcast, and thought that SA would be like SC, too. Boy, was I wrong. |

Sonic Adventure 2 review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownWhere I find Sonic and Shadow's versus mode to be more fun than any of the others, I'm sure everyone will find something to like here. All the characters even have special moves that you can use after collecting so many rings, such as Shadow's Chaos Control. Very cool. |
||
Sonic Adventure 2 review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownThough Sonic and Shadow's levels are fun, it's a shame the game isn't exclusive to them. Tails and Eggman's levels are decent, but hardly great. And Knuckles/Rouge's levels are--oh my God--BAD! Since I love Knuckles, I kept trying to reassure myself saying, ''it's not that bad, it's not that bad,'' and then realizing, through the awful time I was having, that they really... |

Sports Jam review (DC)Reviewed on Date Unknown''He shoots, he SCORES. YOU'RE NOT SINGING ANYMORE.'' |
||
Tennis 2K2 review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe key is to find out when to use each of these techniques, as a successful strategy will wipe out your opponents easily. If the ball is volleyed high enough, your player (or the computer--yikes!) will automatically jump up (when you press a button, obviously), and spike it. This adds another level of strategy, forcing you to control your volleys so they stay low, and don't sail up high leading to your ultimate doom. |

The Typing of the Dead review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownGames like this are the reason why hardcore gamers respect Sega so much. After all, they certainly don’t know how well such a quirky game would sell...but they don’t care. They are committed to bringing gamers quality games, no matter how much of a niche product it is. Who else but Sega would have the guts to release a typing game based on a light gun game? You certainly wouldn’t see such a thing released by Sony or Nintendo, that’s for sure. |
